A right Royal knees-up...

Prince William to marry Kate in 2012: Report
London, Sept 12, (PTI):

Prince William will tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton in 2012, a media report said, putting an end to rumours about when the couple will finally wed.

According to the 'News of the World', the couple will get married in 2012 before the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June and London Olympics in July as they want their big day around the time when the world's spotlight is on Britain.

"William and Kate are both aware a royal wedding followed by the jubilee celebrations and the Olympics will really put Britain on the map again," a senior insider was quoted by the British tabloid as saying.

Secret plans are being drawn up for the nuptials to fit in with both major events.
The source added: "This will be a landmark occasion. The Chinese may have put on a great show for the last Olympics but nobody can do royal pomp like we can. It'll be spectacular.

"There is no doubt that Kate is the right girl for William. Their future together is sealed. The powers that be, and I mean right to the top, see this as perfect opportunity to secure the monarchy at the heart of the people at a time when the media focus is on our country."

The 28-year-old Prince, who is expected to graduate as an airforce search-and-rescue chopper pilot next week, is also said to prefer a low-key celebration, and against Westminster Abbey, where the Queen got married, as a location because it's the venue for his mother Diana's funeral 13 years ago.

However, insiders say 28-year-old Kate and William are now very happy to wait until 2012 to wed.
